Born in 1804 as Rietfontein, a humble settlement surrounding the Rietfontein Gold Mine, Edenvale has evolved into a prominent facet of Johannesburg.
Edenvale traces its origins back to 1903, when it emerged as a small settlement called Rietfontein around the Rietfontein Gold Mine after the Anglo Boer War. It was later established as a municipality in 1946. Initially, it was populated by Cornish mineworkers.
We are a section 21 company, formed by and financed by the property owners of the central business district of Edenvale to supplement and manage the services provided by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) and thereby uplifting the town centre and providing many benefits for all the stakeholders.
